SEA-son’s greetings from the COL crew, and our award-winning gingerbread house, Climate Change at the North Pole. The melting Arctic never looked so delicious.
Ending the year on a partial government shutdown isn’t quite how we’d hoped to send off 2018, but unfortunately without an appropriations bill signed into law, critical ocean science agencies such as NOAA, NASA, and NSF must halt most of their activity until a funding package passes. We hope for a quick end to this partial shutdown so that the dedicated federal workers who make up these impacted agencies can resume their vital work to fulfill the agencies’ missions. We look forward to working with members of Congress, both new and old, in the 116th Congress to prioritize ocean science for our nation and our global partners.
Thanks to all who supported the ocean sciences in 2018, and we’ll see you in 2019!
