On this Expedition:
My work is somewhat unique as part of the petrology science group. I actually have a broad range of work that I do every day since I specialize in sedimentary rocks. We have an international team of scientists from the UK, from the States, from Portugal, from India and from South Africa. After a dredge, we sort the rocks and if there are sedimentary rocks, my work is to classify the sample. It is interesting because sediments show us the environment of the Earth at different times in the past!

About myself:
I am a half-Brit, half-South African eternal student with an endless list of questions, but little memory to retain the answers!
For Students:
The horizon for most people is suburbia or cityscape. Very few of us get to stand at the highest point and see water meeting sky through 360 degrees. It is both inspiring and humbling.
