On this Expedition:
I am part of the geophysics team. My role is primarily working with bathymetry data and analysis on the computer. We stand watch to monitor data collection for geophysics. This includes recording the ship course and heading, seismic equipment and the magnetometer. I am on a 12 hour watch from 8 at night to 8 in the morning. We deploy and retrieve equipment frequently on my shift. I have provided the maps for the Sea90e website, and helped acquaint the teacher here with the ship. I like the sea, doing field work and working with the crew on the ship.

For Students:
It is important to go out to sea to study the world's oceans and what's beneath them,
because there is only so much you can learn from a book, in a classroom.
The world has to be experienced firsthand.
