Another Look at OUR WORLD (The RV Roger Revelle)

These dolphins came for a visit last week and were photographed by our Marine Mammal Observers on board. During the next few weeks, we will begin to profile some of the crew and members of the science team. We have a great group of people on board that came together for this expedition.

This week, just want to highlight a few of the diverse team members on our voyage. We have already mentioned Will Sager, who is the lead, or primary investigator. He is standing in front of one of the banks of computer monitors in the computer lab.

Megan (above right) is a "restech" and one of the staff that works with the science team. She is responsible for all deck operations and safety while on board ship. She is showing Ines, (a scientist from Portugal), some of the details for operating the winch on deck. The Revelle is an advanced research ship and has explored parts of most of the oceans of the world on cruises that last from a few weeks to a few months.

During one of the science team meetings, Fred Frey, points out a site to Malcolm Pringle on a survey chart for the ridge sites. Malcolm and Fred are also primary investigators (also: left to right) Scott, Evy, Malcolm, Ines, Rao, Sarah, Fred, Holly

Check back here from time to time.. Will keep updates here and all the previous notes in tabs to the right..
