First Look... Onboard the RV Roger Revelle
This was our first tour onboard. 
Dr. Will Sager explains some of the important features of our ship, and NO!, the person at the aft rail is not seasick!
We haven't even left the dock. (or is he?)
Now here is science in action. 
When the team from MIT found.. oops, I mean, when they did not find the light source for their microscopes, they didn't even hesitate. A quick trip to the store for a few hardware items, and WOW, they not only have a light source for their microscopes, they have a hat, a human-powered portable deck light, and....
This is innovation!
When was our first fire and boat dril?
The first day, of course! 
Safety always first at sea. (anywhere)
By Thursday, the weather was better and we completed our first dredge,collecting rocks from 2800 meters below..some of our team waits expectantly for... ROCKS
