8:00 AM Indian Ocean

Incoming Wave:

seismic gear wave

The difficulty was that this was not the only one! Waves began to build in a cross-swell so that they formed some interesting peaks and valleys. Because these were actually short, they caused the seismic fish to come up and down rapidly and it stressed steel cables, shackles, and people too. It was still always safety first, and everyone worked together when we needed to get the seismic gear back on the Revelle.

On board was also a rough ride, but most everyone is doing really well. We are more used to this now and dinner was well attended. We had a great dinner and dessert last night. Even though it was not the best day for science, the people here are great. Everyone helps and yesterday evening we packaged some of the rocks so that we would be ready for our next dredging sessions...

Once the weather settles a bit!
