The Hydrographic Society Of America (THSOA) Southeast Chapter is announcing a scholarship for 2017-2018.
a) Scholarship is available to applicants who meet the following criteria
• Is a full-time college student (undergraduate- 12 credits/semester, graduate – 9 credits/semester), who is currently enrolled in a U.S. college or university located in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and South Carolina in a two year, four year or a graduate program (see item 2 above) and demonstrates a keen interest in pursuing a career in hydrographic surveying or related fields.
• High school senior who has applied and been accepted in a full-time U.S. college or university located in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and South Carolina (see item 2 above) with accreditation recognized by the U. S. Department of Education, and who also demonstrates a keen interest in pursuing a career in hydrographic surveying or related fields.
b) Applicants must be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
c) Applications for the current scholarship award will be accepted between October 1, 2017 and November 30, 2017 (for the school year 2017-2018).
d) Applications will be reviewed by THSOA-Southeast Chapter Education Committee.
e) Application deadline is November 30, 2017 (for the 2017-2018 school year).
f) Scholarship winners will be announced by December 31, 2017.
g) Currently for 2017-2018 academic year awards are expected to be 4 x $1000.00 scholarships.
h) Selection will be based on a combination of academic performance, letters of recommendation, and answers documented in the application process.
i) Students cannot receive THSOA Southeast Chapter and THSOA National scholarship in the same year.
