The GoMRI RFP-I and RFP-II researchers have just started their third quarter of 2014 research. The GoMRI Program has produced over 300 scientific journal articles with over 525 scientists and 402 students funded so far. The RFP-IV proposal submission window, to select the research activities for GoMRI Years 2015–2017, closed in mid-June. Reviews took place throughout July and will continue over the next several months. The award announcement is expected to be made in mid-November.
Plans for the 2015 Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill and Ecosystem Science Conference, February 16-19, 2015 at the Westin Galleria Hotel in Houston, Texas, are underway. The Conference Executive Committee has completed their review of the submissions for scientific sessions. Twenty sessions have been selected and abstract submission will open on August 11. Additional information on the selected sessions and how to submit an abstract is available on our conference website.
