Three graduate students in A&M's College of Geosciences have been awarded prestigious Schlanger Fellowships. Oceanography graduate students Daniel Murphy and Masako Tominaga won awards for the 2007-08 academic year, while geology and geophysics graduate student Hiroko Kitajima won a fellowship for 2006-07. Only five Schlanger Fellowships are awarded each year nationwide. The $28,000 merit-based awards allow graduate students to conduct research related to the Integrated Ocean Drilling Program. The money can be used for stipends, tuition, benefits, research costs and travel. ... |
