Alex is the Project Engineer/Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative for the cyberinfrastructure component for the Ocean Observing Initiative project. He is responsible for project management of the contract with the University of California, San Diego. He has spent most of the past decade in academia, most recently as Information Systems faculty at George Mason University. His research and interests focus coordination theory, network and process structures, computer system design and development, electronic commerce, interplays between efficiency, time and risk, supply chains, financial systems and project management. Some of his research has been published in outlets such as IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Journal of Organizational Computing and Electronic Commerce, Journal of Business Logistics, Transportation Journal and Journal of Enterprise Information Management. He grew up in Edmonton, Alberta where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from University of Alberta. Alex holds a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems and Master of Computer Science from Arizona State University.
