After almost 30 years in the undersea telecommunications industry, Rosie Lunde joined JOI in 2006 as a senior program engineer in the Ocean Observing Activities project office. During her career, Rosie has held a variety of jobs in research and development, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, quality auditing, and project management. Her last corporate position was as VP of Subsea Project Management for Global Crossing's worldwide undersea cable network.

Rosie also has a separate career in volunteer work with the United Way, the American Needlepoint Guild, and the Eighth Grade Fair for her daughter's middle school.

Rosie and her husband, Harold, live in New Jersey. Harold is also an engineer and was the lead design engineer on the first SCARAB remotely operated vehicle (ROV), which was built by Bell Labs to assist in the repair and burial of commercial undersea cables. They have two daughters, Marisa (13) who lives at home and Meg (19) who is finishing her freshman year at Mom's old alma mater, Stanford.
