Bishop Sullivan High wins academic bowlDAILY PRESS February 24, 2008 NORFOLK - Bishop Sullivan High wins academic bowl Five teenagers leaned to gether in a circle as coach Bill Dunn said a short prayer and offered some words of encour agement. Then it was wartime to line up onstage. The students from Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School in Virginia Beach were a few matches from winning Saturday's Blue Crab Bowl, an academic competition that tested participants' knowledge of the marine sciences. In the end, they came out on top. The first-place win earned the students an all-expenses-paid trip in April to the National Ocean Sciences Bowl in Seward. Alaska. Teams from 14 high schools across Virginia including 2000 and 2002 winner Grafton High School participated in the llth Blue Crab Bowl at Old Dominion University. The annual event is organized by ODU and the College of William and Mary's Virginia Institute of Marine Science.
