Kristen Yarincik: Census of Marine Life International Program Manager, CORE Research Division![]() Tel: (202) 448-1237 Email: kyarincik@oceanleadership.org Kristen Yarincik joined the CORE division of Ocean Leadership in 2001 as a Research Associate for the Census of Marine Life (CoML) and the National Oceanographic Partnership Program. Since 2003, she has worked full-time for the CoML program, currently serving as Program Manager for the overall international program. In this capacity, she coordinates CoML’s international Scientific Steering Committee and supports its 17 global projects. Kristen received a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Geosciences from Boston College. Her master’s degree in Earth Sciences from Boston University focused on the paleoceanography of Cariaco Basin (Venezuela) through analysis of cores from the Ocean Drilling Program. Learning at a young age that she is prone to seasickness, Kristen pursued a career outside of academia. Prior to joining CORE, Kristen worked as an Associate Producer with Northern Light Productions, a documentary film company in Boston, Massachusetts that works primarily with museums and visitor centers. You can see a few examples of her documentary work at Yellowstone National Park, Guilford Courthouse National Military Park (where you might also see her die as an anonymous British soldier if you look closely!) and right here in DC at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History (African Voices exhibit). | 1201 New York Ave NW | |
