Christine Hodgdon recently joined the Consortium for Ocean Leadership as the Education Coordinator for NOSB. Christine will assist in organizing and executing the NOSB Final Competition on April 25-29th in Seward, Alaska as well as other meetings and events related to Ocean Leadership education programs.

Christine received her B.S. in Zoology from North Carolina State University and her M.S. in Conservation Biology and Sustainable Development from the University of Maryland. While in graduate school, Christine had the opportunity to assist with the establishment of an international consortium that evolved into the Human-Wildlife Conflict Collaboration (HWCC).

Prior to graduate school, Christine worked as a wildlife rehabilitation intern for stranded cetaceans and turtles at the Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, Florida and also as an intern at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. educating the public about the Golden Lion Tamarin free-range program. She later worked at the Carnivore Preservation Trust in Pittsboro, NC as both a keeper and education liaison to the public. Christine has traveled throughout most of Central America, and has spent time in Australia, Nepal, Kenya, and Cuba working with local communities on various environmental issues. In addition to traveling, Christine enjoys running and plans to run her second half- marathon this spring.
