JOI Diversity MSPHDs: Where We've Been - Potsdam

Science Steering and Evaluation Panel (SSEP), Potsdam, Germany

In May 2006, JOI took six MS PHD'S students to Potsdam, Germany to attend the Science Steering and Evaluation Panel (SSEP) Meeting, which is part of the science advisory structure for the Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP). During their time in Potsdam, students participated in the review of science proposals submitted to the IODP, gained insights into the proposal review process and what goes into the development of world-class science, received mentoring from the U.S. scientists on the panel, networked with scientists from all over the world, and explored the sights of Potsdam and Berlin.

Read their daily blog about the experience.
