JOI Diversity MSPHDs: Where We've Been


Since the partnership first began in 2005, JOI has sponsored the participation of many MS PHD'S students in a whole range of activities, most recently:

In May 2007, JOI supported five MS PHD'S students to attend the Science Steering and Evaluation Panel held at Rice University in Houston, TX. During their time in Houston, students participated in the review of science proposals submitted to the IODP, gained insights into the proposal review process and what goes into the development of world-class science, received mentoring from the U.S. scientists on the panel, networked with scientists from all over the world, and explored some of the sights of Houston.
